Hands of Hope offers peer counseling support for women and men struggling with:
These experiences may cause unexpected side effects - physically, emotionally, and/or spiritually. Feelings and memories are often pushed down and set aside in the hope they will go away on their own, only to have them surface again at a later time. They may be subtle - a sense of sadness, loss, regret, or emptiness - thoughts and memories that creep into your awareness unexpectedly. Or there may be a more profound impact - depression, anxiety, difficulty in relationships, or addictions.
Other signs of struggle are:
It does not matter how long ago your experience was, if you need someone to talk to, we can help. Depending on your situation, we offer individual/couple's peer counseling, a group Bible study, or a weekend retreat environment. Many women and men in our families, churches, and community have been involved with abortion and they may be struggling. We want them to know they are not alone. In fact, if you have not personally been impacted by abortion, it is likely that you encounter people every day who have had this experience.
At Hands of Hope, we offer the hope of Jesus to those who have been involved with abortion. One of our programs, Deeper Still, is a healing retreat specifically designed for women and men who have either had an abortion or who have participated in an abortion. Through group activities, worship, and individual prayer ministry, participants are given the opportunity to:
The Deeper Still Retreat is currently offered twice a year (spring and fall). It is a sleep-over retreat that begins at 3:00 pm on Friday afternoon and ends at noon on Sunday. The retreat environment provides an opportunity to get away from familiar routines and responsibilities so you can stay focused on healing tasks without disengaging. You will be part of a small, safe and confidential community of women and men on a similar journey where you will experience a Christ-centered spiritual makeover.
Our next Retreat is March 2020
